My most recent articles

Writing – My son requested to read thru his freewrites at breakfast this morning. We were laughing hysterically and enjoying his work. Then he wrote a new story! I’m so happy that he’s wanting to write on his own initiative! . Afterwards, I started typing up my son’s stories. There’s a whole collection with the same group of silly characters, and I think it would make a cute book! . We started Freewrite Friday in the fall and there was a long stretch where my son just wanted to dictate nonsense syllables, song lyrics, or random words (“bonk bonk stinker”) We kept going and one day he had a story idea. Space exploration – combining our glow on the dark stars and glow sticks with space toys and a map of Mars. The SpaceX Crew Dragon mission inspired this playtime – we enjoy watching launches and landings! . Space was one of our preschool unit studies, and it continues to be one of our favorite topics. . This is an older Mars map – out of date by now, I’m sure.
